This session will look at Systems & Process Concepts for Improving Organisational Performance.  The aim is to introduce a different way of thinking and analysing of businesses in order to be capable of effecting (radical) change to current business activities as a means of improving overall business performance.

 

There will be the review of a range of tools and techniques used to design and improve organisations.

The following topics will be included:

o        Systems Thinking

o        Difference between a process and a system

o        Metrics and measures: inputs, outputs, outcomes, and benefits

o        Techniques for process mapping

o        Creation of process templates; IDEF, UML, SSM;

o        Matching capacity & demand

o        A range of issues including queues, bottlenecks, constraints

o        Idealized Design

o        Benefits of process mapping
