Presidents Forum

Performance Measurement – some myths and realities in HR

Speaker – Sir Andrew Likierman, London Business School

4.45pm for 5.15 until 7.15 on 15th September 2009
at One Whitehall Place, London SW1A 2HE

HR is constantly required to justify what it does in terms of results.  Whether it’s talent management, executive education or coaching, the function is often faced with the question “Yes, but how can you measure the results?”

Andrew Likierman has been developing models to deal with what is difficult to measure, whether it’s events, activities or functions.   His work has spanned many aspects of HR’s work, including the currently highly contentious area of the link between performance and reward.

In his presentation, resulting from his work, he will suggest that there are a number of myths in HR which inhibit the ability to give satisfactory answers to challenging questions about measurement.  He will propose ways to dispel the myths and, as a result, provide better ways to answer the difficult questions.
