Presidents Forum Performance Measurement – some myths and realities in HR Speaker – Sir Andrew Likierman, London Business School 4.45pm for 5.15 until 7.15 on 15th September 2009
HR is constantly required to justify what it does in terms of results. Whether it’s talent management, executive education or coaching, the function is often faced with the question “Yes, but how can you measure the results?”
In his presentation, resulting from his work, he will suggest that there are a number of myths in HR which inhibit the ability to give satisfactory answers to challenging questions about measurement. He will propose ways to dispel the myths and, as a result, provide better ways to answer the difficult questions.
PROFESSOR SIR ANDREW LIKIERMAN Andrew is Dean of London Business School. He is also Chairman of the National Audit Office, Director of Barclays Bank plc and a Trustee of the Institute for Government. Andrew’s career has spanned work in the public and private sectors, as well as in professional life. In the public sector he was a member of the Cabinet Office Central Policy Review Staff (the "Think Tank") and spent a 10-year period as one of the Managing Directors of the UK Treasury and Head of the UK Government Accountancy Service. He has also been a Non-executive Director of the Bank of England and was Non-executive Deputy Chairman of the Tavistock and Portman Health Trust. In the private sector Andrew worked as a management accountant with Tootal Ltd, ran a textile plant in Germany and was Managing Director of the overseas division of Qualitex Ltd. He also started and then sold his own business selling business books. He has been the non-executive Chairman of Economists’ Bookshop Ltd, the market research firm MORI Ltd and the technology incubator Applied Intellectual Capital plc In his professional capacity, he has advised a number of House of Commons Select Committees, was President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has been a member of a number of official inquiries, including the “Cadbury Committee” on corporate governance and a member of the International Group on the Corporate Governance of the United Nations.

Fees: A cover charge of £129.00 + VAT per person will be made for FISSING or HR Society members. For non-members the cover charge will be £199.00 + VAT.
