Essentials Series Shaping the future: Sustaining organization performance through relentless change Speaker – John McGurk 10.00 for 10.15 until 4.30 on 10th June 2010 The current global economic context has made sustainability even more crucial for all organisations. Shaping the future is a flagship project, which extends the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development’s decade-long research effort on high performance working. Using research on six case studies CIPD adviser Dr John McGurk explains the emerging evidence under the broad themes of leadership, engagement and organisational development. In this interactive and provocative session practitioners will gain real insight into the most critical of future capabilities: the capability for sustainable organisation performance.
Dr John McGurk is CIPD Adviser on Learning, and Talent Development with special responsibility for HRD and Coaching issues. After a multi faceted career starting as a Train Driver, becoming a business academic and HR strategist for the UK pilots union, he has settled into the role of CIPD adviser. He is responsible for coaching, skills, and knowledge economy issues. John is currently completing the EMCC accredited CIPD/OCSM Advanced Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring. He has also overseen a number of research projects and key outputs on coaching for CIPD.
This event will take place at One Whitehall Place, London SW1A 2HE. Coffee will be served from 14.00am for a 14.15 start and the day will end at 17.00pm. The per-person fee for each event is £190 plus VAT for members of the HR Society, and £275 plus VAT for non-members. The fee is inclusive of materials for the session and refreshments A 20% discount will also apply to the second and subsequent participants from the same company attending any one event.
