This is a one-day, intensive workshop based around Paul Kearns’ 2009 book ‘Creating Business Strategy with Human Capital’. It is a highly participative event dealing with real, live issues from participants. Paul has been running HR strategy programmes, including development programmes for HR Business Partners for many years and has constantly updated and refined the content to cater for all the latest developments in strategic HR thinking. The content of this workshop provides a foundation for the programmes taught by Paul at MBA and Executive Education levels.

The Speaker
Paul Kearns has over 30 years experience in HR and has held a range of HR posts, including industrial relations, training and development and generalist HR management in engineering, construction and manufacturing. In 1991 he left an executive HR position in the automotive industry to found the PWL (Personnel Works Limited) to offer effective business solutions for the most difficult people issues. He has worked with clients from both the private and public sectors including the Civil Service, Local Government, the Police and NHS. He has completed assignments in over 20 countries around the world including China, Australia and the Middle East and is a very popular keynote conference speaker. He has written widely on the subjects of HR measurement and strategy, learning evaluation and ROI and has earned a reputation as a leading edge thinker in the field of Human Capital Management and reporting and Evidence Based HR Management. He runs a regular HR strategy course which has become a core MBA subject because of the way it integrates with every other aspect of general management.
