Essentials Series Accounting and Finance for HR Professionals Speaker – John Kind 10.00 for 10.15 until 4.30 on 15th January 2010 at One Whitehall Place, London SW1A 2HE
As an article in ‘People Management’ magazine highlighted recently, ‘it’s no longer possible to be a credible HR professional without knowing your numbers’. Executives share and discuss financial information with their colleagues regularly. But how much do those executives really understand about finance? The purpose of this one-day programme was to: • Enable HR practitioners to use and interpret financial information so that they can become more active contributors when financial issues are being discussed and financial decisions are being made. • Enable HR practitioners to calculate and appreciate the importance of a variety of financial performance indicators as the basis for assessing and then improving financial performance. • Enable HR practitioners to become conversant with the different kinds of costs and costing techniques so as to appreciate the impact of different cost structures on financial performance. A highly interactive and practical approach will be followed supported by notes for delegates and a comprehensive glossary of financial terms.
The Speaker: John Kind specialises in learning and development with a focus on commercial and financial skills. He has 25 years experience of designing, facilitating and presenting workshops for executives at all levels of seniority. He has worked in 30 countries. John’s client list consists of a wide range of ‘blue chip’ organisations including BAA, BP, Babcock International, the Institute of Directors, the John Lewis Partnership, the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal British Legion. In 2007 and 2008, he received awards from BP’s Financial University for developing and facilitating global training programmes on Credit Management.
